Established in 1984, TED is an annual event where some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers are invited to share what they are most passionate about. “TED” stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design – three broad subjects areas that are, collectively, shaping our future.
The diverse audience – Community organizers, CEOs, scientists, creatives, philanthropists – is almost as extraordinary as the speakers, who have included Bill Gates, Brené Brown, Simon Sinek and Bono.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx
events, including ours, are self-organized.
Our event is called TEDxFiesole, where x = independently organized TED event.
The main subject of this first TEDxFiesole is “A Renewed Humanism”, a topic declined through great themes such as sustainability, climate change, climate finance, energy poverty, water scarcity, social entrepreneurship, altruism.
TEDxFiesole attendees, organizers, volunteers and speakers will come together in the Roman Theatre of Fiesole to imagine and discuss a better future through the lens of Renewed Humanism.
